Leon Wessels (1989) works part-time (0.4 fte) as a programme manager for CLARIN ERIC. He is mainly involved in topics related to governance, policy and outreach. Among others, he supports the Board of Directors, the General Assembly and the Strategy and Management Board. He is national moderator of the content for the Netherlands that is registered in the CLARIN-DARIAH DH Course Registry.
Leon graduated from Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam in 2015, where he did a Research Master in History, Culture & Power. After a few positions as research assistant, he started working for CLARIN ERIC in July 2016. As of January 2018, Leon is a part-time PhD candidate in History at Utrecht University (0.6 fte), funded by CLARIN ERIC. His research focuses on the conceptual history of elites in the Netherlands. He uses several computational techniques and digital text corpora for his research, including CLARIN tools and corpora.
