CLARIN Annual Conference 2015 in Wroclaw, Poland

The CLARIN Annual Conference is the main annual event for those working on the construction and operation of CLARIN across Europe.

Participants of the committee meetings will arrive on Wednesday 14th. The committee meetings will start Thursday morning at 9:00. The opening ceremony of the conference will start Thursday at 16:30. There will be a full programme of papers, posters and demos on Friday and Saturday, with participants leaving on Sunday. A closed meeting of the Strategic Advisory Board will take place on Sunday morning.


Selected papers from the CLARIN 2015 Conference

The selected papers from the CLARIN Conference 2015 have been (digitally) published by Linköping University Electronic Press, Linköpings universitet.The conference proceedings in this volume present a selection of the highlights of the CLARIN 2015 Annual Conference in which members of the CLARIN community share their experiences and results.

Participation in this event is by invitation only. If you have been selected to attend the conference, you have received information from your national coordinator or from the CLARIN office. 


CLARIN Bazaar

Sign up is closed.

All conference participants will attend the CLARIN Bazaar. This is a new and experimental session at the conference, which aims to take advantage of the fact that so many of the CLARIN community will be together in one place to promote more discussion about work in progress, ideas for future work, and to initiate new collaborations. Do you have a cool new CLARIN webapp or software application that you want to demonstrate? Are you looking for collaborators for a new research project? Have you had a good idea for user engagement? Have you been experimenting with a new approach? Then sign up for the CLARIN bazaar! How to get there

Wroclaw- Port Lotniczy airport (IATA: WRO) is connected to the following European airports: Eindhoven, Frankfurt, München, Warsaw and Copenhagen. Airlines flying into the city include LufthansaSAS Scandinavian Airlines and Poland's national carrier LOT. Additional low cost airlines servicing the city include Germanwings , Ryanair and Wizz Air.

Depending on your location you can reach Wroclaw directly. If not you can reach Wroclaw  from Warsaw or one of the above mentioned European airports.

From Wroclaw airport - Port Lotniczy you can take bus line 406 (direction: DWORCOWAT). Bus line 406 operates from the terminal building to central Wrocław between 5am and 11pm every 20 minutes.

You need to get off at any of the bus stops between stops Rogowska and Wrocławski Park Przemysłowy (8 stops to choose from) and than take bus line 132 (direction PL. DANIŁOWSKIEGO) or bus line142 (direction: ZAWALNA )  to the conference venue (bus stop Rynek).

The conference venue “Hotel Sofitel Wroclaw Old Town” is located right next to the square near the bus stop Rynek.

The journey should take about 40 minutes,but please take into consideration that this route is very heavily congested during the rush hours.

To schedule your journey by public transport, it might be helpful to use the journey planner (there just type in travel from: Port Lotniczy- travel to: Hotel Sofitel).

Bus ticket information

To travel from Wroclaw Airport to the city center you will need a 1-hour ticket, which costs 4.4PLN and can be bought at marked points or from ticket vending machines. They are located near stops and in MPK vehicles, where you can pay with payment cards only.

You need to validate your single-ride immediately after boarding a tram or bus (including tickets purchased in the vehicle).

Taxi

If you prefer to travel by taxi please find the information below.

Taxis are directly available at the airport. The standard price is ca. 45-55 PLN. However there is approx. 20% discount, if you order a taxi by phone. The most reliable companies are:
