CLARIN-PLUS Workshop "Facilitating the Creation of National Consortia: Repositories"
On 9-10 February, fourteen representatives of newly established and candidate national consortia met in Prague for a workshop in the series Facilitating the
Creation of National Consortia, as part of the efforts of the CLARIN-PLUS project to widen the geographical scope of participation in CLARIN. This time the topic was the role of repository systems and B-Centres in the CLARIN infrastructure.
An overview of the most popular repository systems currently used in CLARIN centres was presented. Discussion centered on a range of topics, from the technical aspects of repository setup and configuration, to the integration with other services offered by CLARIN centres, and the links with broader worldwide initiatives like OpenAIRE, OLAC, and and the Data Citation Index. The processes involved in applying for the Data Seal of Approval and CLARIN B-Centre status were also discussed.
Participants represented a range of use cases, with some countries planning to set up their first repository, but also others with long-standing existing repositories and national infrastructures not yet fully integrated with CLARIN.
Links to presentations can be found in the programme on the workshop’s event page

PARTHENOS Training Website Launched
PARTHENOS has launched the PARTHENOS Training Suite, a collection of materials to support training in Digital Research Infrastructures. The online Training Suite builds on existing knowledge within the cluster of partners in the PARTHENOS project.
The materials included in the suite are not intended to replicate Digital Humanities skills training that is offered in formal and informal outlets elsewhere, but to expose some of the unique knowledge generated within research infrastructures.
The intended audience for these materials is broad, including Digital Humanities trainers looking to incorporate a greater awareness of infrastructure into their own teaching; self-learners from the research, cultural heritage or development communities curious about the context of work in an infrastructure; infrastructure-based researchers and professionals looking to deepen their understanding of their work context; through to policy makers and institutional leaders wanting to make more informed decisions about supporting access to research infrastructure.
CLARIN is a participating partner in the PARTHENOS project
