Open Call for Participation in the CLARIN Trainer Network Programme

CLARIN invites applications to join the CLARIN Trainers’ Network programme. The network consists of experts who conduct training events at international summer schools, conferences, COST Actions, etc., in disciplines and communities relevant to CLARIN, such as linguistics, digital humanities, language technologies and social sciences.

We welcome all suitably qualified representatives from national consortia and centres, who hold full-time or part-time positions at an academic or research institution, to apply (including PhD students and postdocs). Ideally, candidates would have basic knowledge of the CLARIN research infrastructure. If candidates are unfamiliar with the CLARIN infrastructure, but passionate about teaching activities, they will be offered a brief introductory session about the infrastructure.

The trainer(s) within the network will be entrusted with several responsibilities, including:

  • Planning and conducting training activities in the form of online training webinars or onsite workshops, hosted at prestigious conferences, summer schools, or other educational events. The CLARIN Central Hub will do the matchmaking between the events and the trainers and will ensure that the training events align with the expertise of the centres and consortia.
  • Collaborating with other trainers in the CLARIN network and sharing best practices, exchanging resources, or co-developing training materials.
  • Promoting the CLARIN Trainers’ Network within their professional circles and contributing to its growth and visibility.

CLARIN will cover associated travel and accommodation costs and relevant event registration fees.

Application Procedure

This is a continuous call. Applications are welcome throughout the year.

Interested individuals are invited to send a proposal by email to training [at] clarin.eu (training[at]clarin[dot]eu). Each proposal should contain:

  • A CV or link to their public profile and a brief motivation statement (max. 500 words) highlighting the skills they can bring to the CLARIN Trainer Network, specifying the area(s) of expertise, training experience, developed training materials, and knowledge of CLARIN.

A committee composed of representatives from the CLARIN Training taskforce, the Board of Directors and the User Involvement Committee will review the applications.

The CLARIN Training and Education Officer supports and coordinates the Trainers' Network. For questions and/or more information, please get in touch with Iulianna van der Lek at training [at] clarin.eu (training[at]clarin[dot]eu).
