A Recap of the Centre Meeting 2022

The Centre Meeting is the annual gathering for everyone involved in setting up or hosting a CLARIN centre, with a special focus on the technical infrastructure.

After two years of virtual Centre Meetings, this year’s edition took a hybrid form: participants were able to join the event in person in Utrecht or attend the meeting virtually via Zoom. The first day of the Centre Meeting began with a meeting of the Standing Committee on CLARIN Technical Centres (SCCTC), during which Martin Matthiesen was re-elected as chair. After an extended lunch break allowing for catch-ups and informal exchanges on the CLARIN technical infrastructure, the afternoon continued with the themed sessions. Among others, topics included discussions on remote back-ups of data and workflows for dealing with sensitive data. For a complete overview, and the slides to the themed sessions, please visit the event page. The first day of the Centre Meeting ended with a group dinner at De Utrechter.

The second day of the Centre Meeting was solely dedicated to the CLARIN technical task forces, with meetings of the Federated Content Search and , as well as the Persistent Identifiers task forces being held.

The hybrid form of the meeting was a true success, allowing more than 30 participants to join this year’s Centre Meeting and share their thoughts and expertise with other CLARIN colleagues.
