Submitted by Dieter Van Uytvanck on

New centres

CLARIN welcomes 2 new centres: Beeld en Geluid and the Centre for Language and Speech Technology. There are now 40 registered centres in total.

Improved Discovery Service

A new version (1.9.3) of the CLARIN discovery service has been deployed. This release features an improved loading time. In addition to this performance gain, improved internationalization and better automated checks. If you encounter any issues, please let us know on spf [at] clarin.eu (spf[at]clarin[dot]eu).

Email and DNS migration

Since 8 December we are using a new DNS and mail provider for the clarin.eu domain. Although this will generally not be noticeable, it will lead to a higher stability of all CLARIN-provided services and less issues with aggressive spam filters for @clarin.eu mail addresses.

Updated beta version of the VLO

A new beta version of the is available at http://beta-vlo.clarin.eu. The new version is a maintenance release with a number of small fixes in the metadata mapping. You are invited to test this new version. Any feedback can be sent to vlo [at] clarin.eu (vlo[at]clarin[dot]eu).

Planned maintenance

We will be:

  • upgrading the Virtual Language Observatory next Wednesday, 2016-12-21 between 8:30 and 10:30 CET. As a result, the VLO (at https://vlo.clarin.eu) will not be available for a short amount of time within this time slot.

  • migrating some of our virtual servers next Wednesday, 2016-12-21 between 13:00 and 14:00 CET. In order to finalize this migration a restart is required. This will cause short downtimes for www.clarin.eu, and discovery.clarin.eu.

Please check https://www.clarin.eu/status for up-to-date information.
